The National eLearning Center (NeLC) participated on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, in a panel discussion as part of the second edition of the International Digital Cooperation Forum (IDCF) held in Kuwait. The panel, titled “Future Skills Ecosystem: Strategic Partnerships for Digital Skills and the Global Talent Economy,” brought together a distinguished group of experts, specialists, and decision-makers in the fields of education and digital transformation.
NeLC was represented by Her Excellency Dr. Hajar bint Salman bin Asfour, Deputy Director General for Empowerment. During her participation, she addressed the evolving role of governments in the era of artificial intelligence, noting that it extends beyond funding training to include developing governance frameworks and unified standards that ensure trust, transparency, and the portability of digital skills and credentials across sectors and borders.
She also highlighted examples of strategic partnership-based initiatives aimed at advancing digital skills development, most notably the Micro-Credentials Programs (MicroX) initiative overseen by NeLC. She explained that these programs are designed in collaboration with universities and business sectors and delivered through the National eLearning Platform, FutureX, ensuring alignment with the rapidly changing labor market and connection to specialized, measurable skills.
Dr. Hajar further discussed the ongoing collaboration between NeLC and the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO) through the “Skills Universe” initiative led by the organization. She emphasized NeLC’s role in digitally enabling the initiative by providing a reliable infrastructure that supports content integration, data governance, and adherence to interoperability principles and mutual recognition of digital credentials.
NeLC’s participation reflects its continued commitment to leading the digital education ecosystem, strengthening its position as a global center of excellence in eLearning, and reinforcing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s role as a key contributor to the advancement of digital education worldwide.
