The National eLearning Center (NeLC) celebrated the achievements of its AI Sandbox initiative during the event “AI in Digital Learning: From Innovation to Sustainable Impact” held on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at NeLC’s headquarters in Riyadh. The event brought together leaders and experts from the education, technology, and innovation sectors.
During the event, NeLC highlighted the key milestones achieved by the AI Sandbox since its launch, emphasizing its role in fostering innovation and providing a supportive environment for developing and testing AI solutions in digital learning. The initiative has empowered more than 6,300 participants and supported 45 innovative projects, contributing to the creation of evidence-based solutions that enhance the quality of digital learning.
The event also featured the announcement of the winner of the Digital Learning Innovation Challenge, “Future Skills: From Gaps to Growth” implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development and supported by the National Technology Development Program (NTDP). Following strong competition among a range of innovative technology solutions, the “Mahajjah” Platform secured first place.
In addition, the event hosted a panel discussion exploring the role of experimental environments in accelerating innovation. Attendees also had the opportunity to explore an exhibition showcasing participating AI solutions and innovative projects developed through the initiative.
As part of the celebration, NeLC honored partner institutions, projects, and experts whose contributions have been instrumental in strengthening the digital learning innovation ecosystem and advancing the objectives of the AI Sandbox initiative.
The event reaffirmed NeLC’s commitment to empowering innovation and accelerating the adoption of AI technologies across digital learning and training sectors. These efforts support building a sustainable, high-quality digital learning ecosystem and contribute to achieving the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
