The National eLearning Center (NeLC) participated on Thursday, 18 June 2026 in a webinar titled “AI in Maintaining Educational Continuity During Crises”, organized by the UNESCO Regional Office for the Gulf States in partnership with the Regional Center for Educational Planning. The event provided a platform to showcase the Kingdom’s pioneering experience in advancing the digital learning ecosystem, fostering innovation, and enabling the use of AI in eLearning.
NeLC was represented by Dr. Hajar Bin Asfour, Deputy Director General for Empowerment at NeLC. During her participation, she highlighted the Kingdom’s experience in leveraging emerging technologies and AI-driven solutions to enhance educational continuity, as well as key initiatives and practices that have contributed to the advancement of digital learning and strengthened its readiness during times of crisis.
Dr. Bin Asfour also presented NeLC's AI practical applications and discussed the role of governance and regulatory frameworks in building an agile and robust digital learning ecosystem. In addition, she highlighted key success factors, implementation challenges, and opportunities for scaling AI adoption to achieve meaningful institutional impact across educational systems.
NeLC participation reflects its ongoing role in governing and advancing digital learning within the Kingdom, while promoting the exchange of expertise and national best practices with international organizations. These efforts further reinforce the kingdom's position as a leading model in the development of digital learning.
