On Monday, September 1, 2025, The National eLearning Center (NeLC) successfully hosted a webinar on AI Competencies for Learners: From Understanding to Empowerment, with the participation of a distinguished group of local and international speakers and experts. The webinar aimed to explore AI competencies among learners and trainees and to discuss effective ways to integrate AI technologies into the educational process efficiently and effectively, highlighting the cognitive, technical, and ethical dimensions of these technologies.
The webinar addressed several key themes, including: understanding human-centered AI by maintaining human control and recognizing its societal impact; empowering learners with autonomy and decision-making skills to guide the use of technology to meet their learning needs; designing AI-powered learning, from problem identification to solution development; and developing critical analysis and assessment skills to assess AI tools and outputs in terms of accuracy, bias, and reliability.
This webinar is part of NeLC’s ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of the educational process, build a flexible and effective eLearning environment for learners and trainees, and empower them to leverage AI technologies in ways that boost their readiness for the demands of the digital future.
