The National eLearning Center (NeLC) and the Saudi Geological Survey (SGS) signed a joint memorandum of understanding to enhance cooperation in eLearning and training. The signing took place on the sidelines of the International Mining Conference 2025, which is held under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, from January 14 to 16, 2025, at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center in Riyadh.
The signing of the memorandum was attended by representatives from both sides. Dr. Hajar bin Asfour, Deputy Director General for Empowerment at (NeLC), and Mr. Abdulhadi Al-Moudan, Senior Director of the Human Resources, at (SGS).
This memorandum serves as a comprehensive framework for cooperation between the two parties in several key areas, including: enabling (SGS) to obtain eLearning licenses according to the approved standards of(NeLC), granting SGS's members access to accredited professional development programs, including professional certifications in eLearning and training, in addition to enabling (SGS) to develop flexible educational tracks that meet its needs, in collaboration with content providers from local and global institutions, through the National eLearning Platform FutureX. Additionally, the memorandum facilitates cooperation in creating joint initiatives under corporate social responsibility, aligning with the goals of both parties in eLearning and training.
The signing of this memorandum comes as part of NeLC’s efforts to develop the eLearning and training sector in the Kingdom through governance, quality control, and fostering inter-sectoral integration. The goal is to empower both public and private institutions to benefit from shared digital learning resources, contributing to building a knowledge-based digital society and enhancing the skills of the national workforce across various fields.
