Board of Directors of the National eLearning Center chaired by his Excellency, the Minister of Education, Dr. Hamad bin Muhammad Al-Alsheikh approved the eLearning strategy, in the presence of their Excellencies Board members in the 9th meeting of the board, on Thursday 20 January 2022.
The eLearning strategy developed by NeLC with partner institutions is a great advancement. It also contributes to achieving the national directions, as it focuses on providing distinctive solutions of high-quality flexible operative models to accelerate the results, motivating innovation in the sector and enhancing integration among various relevant institutions.
During the meeting, Dr. Abdullah Al-Walidi, the Director General of the National eLearning Center reviewed the annual report of NeLC for the year of 2021. It included the most notable achievements of NeLC, as well as the efforts and initiatives made to develop and empower the eLearning sector in Saudi Arabia.
Their Excellencies Board members commended the annual report of 2021, emphasizing the Center’s pivotal role in the eLearning ecosystem, and its efficient role in achieving the national objectives and supporting the sustainable development plan in the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, especially in the education and human capability development.
Furthermore, the board reviewed the progress accomplished by NeLC regarding the initiatives. The board also discussed the most recent developments of the International Conference of "eLearning for Human Capability Development" and its goals. In addition, the board addressed several topics on the agenda and made decisions and recommendations to continue working towards achieving the objectives of the eLearning and training sector in the Kingdom.
The meeting was attended by their Excellencies Board members their excellencies; Saad bin Othman Al Kasabi, Governor of Saudi Standards Metrology and Quality, Eng. Ahmed Mohammed Al-Suwaiyan, Governor of the Digital Government Authority, Eng. Mohammed Al-Jasser, Assistant Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Dr. Auhood Alfaries, General Director of the E-Learning and Distance Education, Eng. Abdullah Al-Dakhil, General Manager of Electronic Training at the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation, Dr. Saleh Alghamdi, Executive Director of National Center for Academic Accreditation and Assessment and Dr. Abdullah Al-Walidi, Director General of the National eLearning Center.
