His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Walidi, Director General of the National eLearning Center (NeLC), received a delegation from OpenAI, a leading company specializing in AI research.
The delegation took an introductory tour at NeLC's headquarters in Riyadh, where they were introduced to MicroX initiative, one of the Human Capability Development Program initiatives, part of Saudi Vision 2030. The initiative is being implemented by NeLC in collaboration with Saudi universities. The delegation also gained insights into NeLC’s efforts in governing and regulating the eLearning and training sector in the Kingdom.
The visit featured productive discussions on potential areas of collaboration between NeLC and OpenAI, focusing on advancing eLearning through cutting-edge AI technologies and tools. The goal is to enhance AI-driven services and initiatives to improve the quality of the eLearning and training ecosystem in the Kingdom, as well as to enrich the learning experience for students and beneficiaries.
Notably, NeLC recently launched AI Sandbox in Digital Learning Initiative, designed to provide a flexible environment for developers, practitioners, and institutions to experiment with and develop AI-driven innovative solutions. The initiative aims to foster innovation, enhance practices in the sector, and develop AI-based models and tools such as: learner data analysis, learning pathway modeling, skill extraction tools, and resume analysis tools.
