His Excellency the Minister of Education, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the NeLC. Dr. Hamad bin Mohammed Alsheikh approved the eLearning standards in
K-12, HE and training, and the Licensing Regulation for the provision of eLearning programs to govern the providers’ practices.
Dr. Als said that approving the standards and regulations was a new and important phase of eLearning in the Kingdom. He also stated that this step will enable universities and learning and training institutions to deliver eLearning programs efficiently and effectively, by a mechanism for regulating and advancing its practices to keep pace with international practices and the global trend towards eLearning and the Kingdom's Vision 2030 that was built on human capability development.
Dr. Alsheikh said that the standards and licensing regulations are the result of efforts, coordination, and cooperation with Saudi universities, relevant learning and training institutions, specialists and experts in eLearning in the Kingdom.
During the meeting, the Center's new identity was inaugurated, which was built on three pillars: enhance trust in online learning, facilitate integration between educational institutions and employers, and lead innovation in digital transformation in education.
The Director General of the NeLC, Dr. Abdullah Alwalidi extended his gratitude to H.E. the Minister of Education and the members of the Board of Directors for their efforts, which resulted in launching these standards and regulations in line with the requirements of the current phase, which will have a positive impact on developing and advancing eLearning in the Kingdom.
