The National eLearning Center (NeLC) and the National Center for the Prevention and Control of Plant Pests and Animal Diseases (Weqaa) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aiming at enabling Weqaa to access and utilize shared digital learning resources through FutureX.
This collaboration enhances sharing resources among various institutions to accelerate the adoption of eLearning in different sectors. Through this partnership, Weqaa will be able to implement eLearning and training programs and upskill its employees and the private sector in the field of prevention and control of plants pests and animal diseases, in addition to enhancing partnerships with specialized institutions and companies and fostering human capabilities development.
At the signing, NeLC was represented by Deputy Director General for Empowerment Dr. Hajer Bin Asfour, while the Head of Shared Services Division Mr. Ibrahim bin Mohammed Altamimi represented Weqaa.
The cooperation aims at enabling Weqaa to utilize shared digital learning resources through FutureX that are provided by NeLC in partnership with local and international content providers. It also grants access to NeLC's broader initiatives and services including facilitating eLearning licensing based on NeLC's approved standards. Furthermore, the partnership includes professional development opportunities, such as certified workshops for Weqaa’s eLearning practitioners in collaboration with accredited institutions.
This initiative aligns with NeLC’s strategic objective to foster national partnerships and advance digital transformation in learning and training, contributing to an agile and responsive learning ecosystem that meets evolving labor market demands both locally and globally.
