The Minister of Education and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National eLearning Center, Dr. Hamad bin Muhammad Al Al-Sheikh, chaired the 7th Board meeting, with the presence of the members of the board.
During the meeting, Dr. Hamad Al-Sheikh praised UNESCO’s adoption of the evaluation framework developed by the Center through the international study on international best practices in eLearning. The study includes best practices from Saudi Arabia, the Republic of Korea, China, and Finland, acknowledging the Kingdom's advancement over many countries in the eLearning.
His Excellency added that NeLC has made remarkable steps in achieving the Kingdom's objectives in eLearning due to the unlimited support that the eLearning sector received in the Kingdom. His Excellency has called for exerting sustainable efforts and strengthening collaborations and partnerships with the relevant institutions to promote these achievements, stressing that eLearning has become an essential part of our educational system.
The Board members commended the outstanding efforts made in the educational sector responding to the challenges caused by the unprecedented events of the COVID-19 pandemic, highlighting the smooth and effective transformation to eLearning within a short period of time.
At the meeting, Dr. Abdullah Alwalidi, the Director General of the National eLearning Center, discussed the Center's strategic plan, criteria for excellence in online learning, licensed institutions and programs, the follow-up procedures and implementation of these programs, as well as the initiatives and achievements of the Center's action plan.
During the meeting, the Board of Directors also discussed several topics and concluding the meeting with several key decisions and recommendations towards achieving the goals of the Kingdom's vision 2030 in the eLearning and training sector.
