The National eLearning Center Participates at the GESS Dubai 2022 Exhibition

The National eLearning Center concluded its participation in the 15th edition of the Global Exhibition for Educational Supplies and Solutions (GESS) in the United Arab Emirates on 15-17 November 2022. More than 6000 experts and specialists in eLearning from over 70 countries and 250 world-leading learning and training institutions have attended and participated in the event.

In the GESS Exhibition, the Center showcased a number of its initiatives, services, and achievements in eLearning through interactive platforms provided for the visitors. The National eLearning Platform “FutureX” and related services were introduced. FutureX aims at achieving integration in the eLearning ecosystem by linking educational institutions with qualified service providers related to platform services and content creation, as well as building partnerships with international educational platforms. It significantly contributes to achieving the sustainable development objectives of Vision 2030 related to providing lifelong learning opportunities.

The Center also introduced ASAS initiative, which is concerned with enhancing integration between Saudi universities to enable them to create and build a customized educational experience through the learning objects repository, to access the basic courses, in a way that contributes to achieving the educational goal for each university.

In addition, the Center presented the Open Educational Resources Platform (OERx), the national digital platform concerned with building, reviewing, and sharing reliable educational content with open licenses in accordance with the digital content quality standards through partnerships with the competent authorities to empower institutions and individuals, and invest in their expertise to enrich and provide access to the open educational content.

The Center also presented a number of other services, such as:

-        Licensing: a service provided to all institutions offering online learning according to specific criteria for the purpose of governing and controlling the quality of eLearning practices, raising the efficiency and organization of the sector, and enhancing trust in eLearning programs and outcomes in the Kingdom.

-        Qualification and training: a service provided to all institutions wishing to obtain licenses for eLearning to help them meet the standards and requirements for providing eLearning programs in the Kingdom with high quality.

-        Research and consulting: a service that the Center extensively provides through conducting developmental and evaluation studies, and providing consultations in eLearning to enhance trust and raise quality and efficiency of all institutions providing eLearning from the public and private sectors. It also provides a database for eLearning resources, measures stakeholders satisfaction, and evaluates the studies and research presented according to the highest standards.

The Center’s participation aims to globally represent the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the field of eLearning to maximize investment and development opportunities in eLearning. It also provides an opportunity to introduce the Center's services and initiatives that play a crucial role in human capabilities development and assure eLearning quality in the Kingdom through innovative learning experiences that align with technological advancements to the global audience. Notably, UNESCO recently recognized the Kingdom as one of the best four countries in its study for eLearning best practices, which promotes the sustainable development goals in education that are aligned with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals.
