NeLC Board of Directors chaired by His Excellency the Minister of Education, Dr. Hamad bin Muhammad Al Alsheikh, approved the launch of the eLearning Innovation Award.
The Award is one of the NeLC’s initiatives, which aims to enhance the reliability of eLearning and celebrate national achievements and innovative projects in the sector, and contribute to the human capability development, by encouraging the provision of the best solutions and practices in eLearning.
Dr. Alsheikh stated that the Award is one of the enablers of the eLearning and human capability development in the Kingdom as it works to advance innovation and create distinguished leaders in the sector. In addition, it contributes to enhance integration between the ecosystem institutions, and encourage them to in the fields of development, research and innovation in creating high quality learning and training programs that maximize the impact of eLearning in the Kingdom and enhance its reliability.
Dr. Alsheikh welcomed the newly joined members of the Board, wishing them success. He also praised the efforts of the former members of the Board after the end of their terms, stressing the importance of making extra efforts to advance the sector that foresaw the future of education in the Kingdom.
During the meeting, the Director General of NeLC, Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammad Alwalidi, reviewed the most prominent achievements and works of the Center during the first half of the current year 2022 AD, and a number of agenda, to be presented to their Excellencies the members of the Board, to discuss them, and to take their advice and views about them.
The Board also discussed several items, including the eLearning Innovation Award, and the future of the learning management system in the Kingdom, and other developments in the same regard.
Their Excellencies the members of the board praised the semi-annual report of the Center for the current year 2022 AD, stressing the important role of the Center in the education ecosystem, and its active role in achieving national goals, and supporting the sustainable development plan adopted by the Kingdom’s ambitious Vision 2030, especially in the education sector, and the human capabilities development.
The tenth meeting of the Board of Directors was attended by: His Excellency the Governor of the Digital Government Authority, Eng. Ahmed bin Mohammad Alsuwaiyan, and His Excellency the Assistant Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Eng. Mohammed bin Nasser Aljasser, the President of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, Prof. Einas bint Suleiman Aleisa, and the President of Tabuk University, Dr. Abdullah bin Mofreh Altheyabi, And the upervisor of the General Administration of E-learning and Distance Education Dr. Auhood bint Abdullah Alfaries, representative of the Education & Training Evaluation Commission , Dr. Saleh bin Ali Alghamdi, and the Director General of eTraining at the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation, Eng. Abdullah Bin Abdulrahman Aldakhil, and eLearning specialists Dr. Abdullah bin Yahya Almohya and Dr. Mr. Khalid bin Sulaiman Almuhaisen from the private sector, and the Director General of the National eLearning Center Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammad Alwalidi.
