The National eLearning Center signs Two Memorandums of Understanding with the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property

The National eLearning Center signed two memorandums of understanding with the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property. The memorandum aims to enhance cooperation between the two parties and support eLearning in the field of intellectual property.

The memorandum was signed by the Director General of the National eLearning Center Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammad Alwalidi and the CEO of the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohammad Alswailem.

The first memorandum included linking the Authority with the National eLearning Platform “FutureX” to provide access to local and global content, and qualification to obtain licenses for eLearning in accordance with the standards of the Center and support the supervision of the content creation and design companies and linking them with the relevant institutions.

In addition, the Center joined the Intellectual Property Respect Officer Program, and works to enhancing cooperation in studies and research that serve the interests of both parties.

The second memorandum aims for the Center to join the national Network of Intellectual Property Support Centers as the 45th member, which is concerned with implementing mechanisms for promoting and supporting innovation, and strengthening the foundations of national innovation by enabling access and benefiting from technical and scientific expertise and aiding research in intellectual and technical property databases and analysis, to meet technical and business needs, and raising awareness of the benefits of intellectual property rights and patents. 

Dr. Alwalidi stated that this partnership is qualitative, as it will provide several services to support innovation, which will contribute to the advancement of the eLearning sector. He Added that the Center seeks to expand its partnerships and implementation of its tasks in accordance with its mandate by providing high-quality eLearning and qualifying citizens with capabilities and skills relevant to the labor market needs through trusted online learning.

Dr. Alswailem said that the partnership is a part of the efforts carried out by the Authority with the education and all sectors to raise awareness of intellectual property, support national innovation through eLearning, and complement its role in raising the community awareness of intellectual property and protecting its rights.
