The National eLearning Center (NeLC) participated on Tuesday January 27, 2026, in a panel at the third edition of the Global Labor Market Conference (GLMC), under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud — may God protect him. The panel, titled “Beyond Credentials: Building Professional Identities through Digital Skills Passports,” explored the future of digital skills and their role in aligning learning outcomes with the rapidly evolving demands of the labor market.
NeLC was represented by Her Excellency Dr. Hajar bin Asfour, Deputy Director General for Empowerment. During her participation, she addressed key challenges associated with the global expansion of eLearning, stressing the importance of ensuring a strong alignment between eLearning and high-quality, reliable outcomes that meet labor market requirements and enhance learner readiness. She also highlighted the importance of aligning labor market requirements with relevant skills through the development of flexible and specialized career pathways.
Dr. Hajar further outlined NeLC’s role in developing regulatory frameworks and standards, as well as in governing and assuring the quality of eLearning in Saudi. She highlighted the importance of enabling institutions to leverage shared digital learning resources through the National eLearning Platform, FutureX.
NeLC’s participation reflects its ongoing efforts to strengthen the governance of
eLearning in Saudi and to control and advance its practices, in alignment with the
objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
