2024-10-09

National eLearning Center has launched the AI Sandbox in Digital Learning initiative, which aims to provide a flexible environment for developers, practitioners and institutions to experiment and develop innovative solutions using artificial intelligence. This is to enhance innovation and develop practices in digital learning, which in turn contributes to raising the quality of education and improving its outcomes, as well as enhancing investment in the digital economy, in line with the strategic goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

This initiative is the first of its kind in the Kingdom, as it provides a supportive and enabling environment for experts, researchers, practitioners and developers to experiment and develop solutions in several areas of digital learning. Furthermore, it accelerates the adoption of AI technologies in the digital learning sector, and builds a community of practitioners of experts and researchers in this field. The initiative targets all individuals including researchers, developers, practitioners, and government and private institutions that have research experiments, tools and products and wish to test them.

The initiative focuses on developing teaching methods using AI, adaptive digital content, and skills by providing a set of enablers to achieve these goals. The benefits include technical tools and resources that support the process of research, development, and testing, access to data and learning environments, consultations with experts and specialists, in addition to facilitating communication and linking with supporting and funding institutions.

It is noteworthy that this initiative comes within the strategic initiatives of NeLC in partnership with several national institutions including: Digital Government Authority, Research, Development and Innovation Authority, The Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority (Monsha’at), National Institute for Educational Professional Development, and National Curriculum Center.
